Caturday Cafe : Pt 1
Co-Co Walk Plaza, Ratchathewi, Bangkok 10400, Thailand
You know you are one ‘CRAZY’ Cat Lady, when your holiday is taken over by spending the morning with 20 cats. Suggested by my cousin, from watching an episode of the Amazing race, a challenge
was actually held at the Caturday Cafe in Bangkok where they had to pour milk and watch the cats lap it up. In total they actually have 40 cats in their care.
Location, The Caturday Cafe is at the BTS Ratchathewi stop. Literally a few minutes walk down from the train to the main street.
Greeted by an indiscreet shopfront filled with illustrations and stepping into the actual premises.
Every visitor to the cafe will need to do the following :Take off your shoes, Wash your hands & Be Ready to swoon . * Caution : Affects individuals upon entering especially animal lovers.
Delighted to spend the day with our feline friends, we were highly distracted because of the exotic breeds. American curl, British short-hair, Maine coon, Bengal and even a Munchkin.
After ten minutes of aw-wing we had to remember to sit quietly to place our order. The menu was enough to give customers an enjoyable quick bite and spend most of the time petting and stoking the cats.
A few rules were at bay, No feeding them and Do not carry them. So, Do Treat them with Treats , Stroke them with Love and be sure to Grab a Toy for them to Play with.
After an hour of being there, we noticed an influx of customers coming by. Safe to say that anyone visiting on weekends should try to be there by 11am. Otherwise you may have to be in line to experience
this unusual yet lively cafe. Safe to say, there were NO allergic reactions or any hairballs at sight.
Thinking about a similar blog post, I do remember reading up on a travel post on www.thecherryblossomgirl.com on her trip to Tokyo.
It was the first time I had heard off the concept of a cat cafe. Now, I am pleased to say that I can
scratch it off the bucket list .
By far, the Caturday Cafe is the kookiest Asian moment I have ever been in. A modern take of world culture that is influencing the way
we approach our daily life. Hopefully, Tokyo would be the next destination on upcoming travels. Alpha city for the past, current and future.
This is the best thing about sharing stories, we all get to read and inspire to pencil in that next adventure.
